Fuego Volcano’s eruption in Guatemala on june 2018 has united people from all nations to provide humanitarian support for the victims in said country.

Guatemala is a beautiful country, full of rich culture and home of colorful landscapes. Located in Central America right between Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador, this beautiful land often steals the hearts of its visitors not only with its breathtaking views, but because of the kindness of its people. Sadly, Guatemala is going through hard times caused by the Eruption of the Fuego Volcano on June 3rd, where hundreds have lost their lives and thousands of people have lost their homes. Yo me uno is a program launched by the Central American Bank —BAC— that allows NGOs to receive donations from people and companies who feel identified with their cause. They have joined efforts with CentraRSE, the National Coordinator for the Reduction of Disasters —CONRED— and UNICEF to receive donations to help all people affected by this event. Miguel Vargas Association

The Miguel Vargas Association is a humanitarian program that aims to raise funds to provide dental, medical, and educational aid across Guatemala. They have pledged to provide medical assistance and other recovery resources to guatemalans affected by this situation. You can donate to their cause via PayPal by visiting this link.

Greater Miami Jewish Federation

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation has been a unifying force for Jewish community-building and philanthropy for more than 75 years. They have established an emergency Relief Fund to help people affected by the Fuego Volcano in Guatemala, where 100% of donations will help  provide critical humanitarian aid to the victims and their families.

Donations checks with the notation of Fuego Volcano Relief can be sent to the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, 4200 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami FL 33137. Online contributions can also be made by visiting their website.

Guatemalan American Association of Miami

The Guatemalan American Association of Miami will be receiving item donations to be sent to the country. Among the donations, they are asking for: canned food, bottled water, surgical masks, antibiotics, disinfectants, rubbing alcohol, diapers —infant and adult—, primary hygiene items and toiletries —such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, sanitary pads—, pain relievers and first aid kits. All these items will be sent and distributed to shelters and victims of this event.

Guatemalan Consulate in Los Angeles

Several collection centers have been opened in the Los Angeles area where you can donate items like canned food, protein bars, bottled water, baby bottles, baby formula, hydrating drinks —pedialyte—, bedding sheets, towels, hygiene items and toiletries, sanitary pads, first aid kits, cleaning items, clothes and diapers —infant and adult— to help victims and shelters.

Civic and Cultural Society of Guatemala in Chicago

The Civic and Cultural Society of Guatemala in Chicago is a group created by the Guatemala-American community living in the Chicago Area. The group will hold a Fundraiser from friday June 8th through Sunday June 10th at the Latin Patio Restaurant in Chicago —3112 N. Central Avenue, Chicago, IL 60634—.

There will be plenty of food, raffles and games and they will be receiving monetary donations, cash or checks. A group traveling to Guatemala will be delivering the donations to the Escuintla Hospital, which has been treating many of the wounded.

The CCSGC will also be accepting first aid kits, bandages, burn cream and other primary need items at the event and at the donation center, located at 2018 W Montrose Avenue in Chicago.

La Reunión Foundation

This NGO was founded by La Reunión Golf Resort and Residences, and it’s aimed at helping all surrounding villages and communities. The hotel was also destroyed by the Volcano eruption but it’s still dedicated to help their community. Their focus is to help survivors who were left without homes or resources and supporting active relief organizations.

God’s Child Project

God’s Child Project has launched a massive relief effort in order to help all victims. They have opened an emergency shelter at Nuestros Ahijados to care for victims affected by this situation, and are providing medical care, food and clothing.

Anacafé and Funcafé

Coffee Farmers in Guatemala will be receiving donations through the National Association of Coffee —ANACAFE— and the Foundation of Coffee Farming for Rural Development —FUNCAFE—. All donations will be used to buy non-perishable food, bottled water, toilet paper, diapers, clothes, shoes, bedding, toiletries, basic medicine, and other items of primary need for victims in shelters.

Catholic Relief Services

This Association has been helping via Caritas Escuintla with humanitarian assistance within shelters. They are also contributing by providing immediate emergency items such as food and bottled water for local shelters who are currently housing most of the victims of the volcano eruption.

Techo

Techo is a well known NGO in Guatemala that is always working towards giving guatemalans a shot at a better future, improving their living conditions. They are working towards supporting all families affected by the volcano and gathering funds to help rebuild their houses.

Plantemos

Plantemos is an Organization that raises funds towards the reforestation of the Guatemalan forests. They have made their fundraising platform available to people who want to help the volcano relief effort.

All donations received will be used to buy medicine and equipment desperately needed by relief teams: medical gauze, hand soap, disinfectant gel, saline solution, eye medicine, bandages, etc. You can make a donation by visiting their site.

They are taking Credit Card and Bitcoin donations, and are the only Guatemalan Organization accepting bitcoin donations at the moment.
